Lumen RT - Transition from day to night - Light in tunnel

Hi, I'm trying to produce a road animation where I go from outside to inside a tunnel.  I would like this animation to be in day light.  We have lighting in the tunnel and I want to show that the lights are powerfull enough (by number of light and number of lumen) to have good visibility.

Is there a way to turn On lights in Lumen RT in the day? if not then:

Is there a way to make the transition from day to night go faster?

Thanks for any tips.

  • Hello Jeremie,

Yes you can turn on the lights in day time also.

And if you are making the video, you can show the transition effect as well.

Please share more information what exactly you want to show and how?

I can help you in this.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks Ankur, what I would like to do is: attach the camera to the inside of a car in LumenRT and drive from outside to inside a tunnel and see the effect of the lighting.  Everything is modeled, outside road, tunnel, and lights.

We are reafecting a part of a tunnel and also changing all the lights in the tunnel.  So I would like to show what the resulting effect will be.

I have made cells of the lights but I'm still trying to figure out what type of Microstation light element will work best for the visualisation, also before telling the client that we do this type of visualisation I want to make sure that it's possible to do.

Any tips on lights, LumenRT setting, or any way to do this will be very appreciated.

    Thanks again
