Multiple characters on one animation path

Hello! I would like to have multiple characters walking through the same "animation path". So far, I created an animation path for each character on the visualization model... which is very time consuming!

Any help you could provide on this would be much appreciated - thanks !!

  • Hi Olivia,

You can do this by using the MicroStation Traffic animation tools.

    1. Create a Linestring or b-spline curve to use as a centerline path for the characters
    2. Use Place Single Lane Traffic
      1. Create a Vehicle set by choosing walking characters instead of vehicles
      2. Set the speed to something appropriate for characters ( ± 3 MPH )
    3. Select the centerline of the lane
    4. Set the direction of traffic flow
    5. Data point to accept the traffic flow
    6. Export to LumenRT
    7. In LumenRT you will need to select each character and then delete the animation of the character (This removes the default animation LumenRT usually uses and allows the characters to follow the animation paths defined in MicroStation
