Is there a way to create a LumenRT scene and adding it to the standard scene selection tab when starting up the program? I would like to create a blank scene much like "simple ground" only without the sky and clouds and a flat black terrain, so really a blank scene that ignores the "real world feel" just to take advantage of lumenRT's lighting and VR capability for model reviews that don't need the environment until much later on. it also helps with doing fly through videos where a client doesn't want to see hills and sky just the model.
Its a real time software, so it will hard to remove the sky form the scene impossible.
But you cheat by creating a huge closed Box.
I find this topic quite intriguing. Why should it not be possible to switch off the sky? Or terrain/ base plane?
I think Ankur might mean LumenRT is intended as "real world" software, so that all geometry is subject to real world environmental influences (light, wind, etc.). Yes, it is "real time" too - but why could that not be the starting point for building this software? Granular control over environmental variables should also be possible.
Other worlds exist, such as outer space or the microscopic world in a petri dish. If I were asked to model and visualize a new module bolted onto the ISS in LumenRT, I would also like to have control over my modeling environment. Someone modeling DNA strands or atomic particles would want similar control. As it happens, the same author has found a failure in LumenRT in which his terrain disappeared. Anyway, I'm just thinking aloud on a late Friday afternoon - and though I would try Ankur's cheat. It sort of works, but better with a sphere so that the cube corners are never visible.

Yes if you were to add it to the Scene Preset Folder found in the following:
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Bentley LumenRT CONNECT Edition - Update 13\LumenRT Content\LumenRT\ScenePresets\Scene Presets

Clouds can be turned off in the Sun and Atmosphere settings. As Ankur pointed out you cant remove the sky, but as an alternative in the file you create you can have it default to use a custom HDR map for the sky, this would be an alternative to what Aknur suggested of creating a large box see:
Let me give the HDR map a try and i will attempt a sphere to enclose the model, i do however have an issue presenting on the model with that too, since it seems that when you breach the "design cube" limitations the lighting does work as one would think, for example inside a closed box i was still getting shadows and there was no transparency set to the box itself. the model im working on is also set to get bigger so i will keep the thread upadted with the changes and work-arounds i find to get this looking good
