Solar light does not light up my scene evenly.

I struggle to render this scene properly. Whatever setting I use one part of my model is overexposed. The sun is behind the camera and low over the horizon to match the shadows on the photography.

It looks like the Sun is positioned just next to the scene, not 150 million km away :).

I am using OBD Update 6.

  • No change at all with these settings. The lift shaft on the left is still very bright comparing to the rest of the structure. Changing global brightness affects the whole image which is not the answer. I only want to remove that bright glare.

    The only solution I found is to rise the Sun above 45 degrees but the shadows also shift.

    in global lights (sun) try to experiment by position of the "sun" away from the scene (outside of all geometries). It should not make any difference but still.

    Then colour: physically based

    Shadows: Medium

    Cloudiness: 90% (basically you create ambient light)

    Intensity: 40 (Lux: 364 - 400)

    Position: Type - direction; the altitude will effect LUX

    Second part: settings for the materials.

    Specular amount - try to put lower, or add specular map (noise for example)

    Reflection: for start - switch off.

    Render Environment : Sky

    Multiplier put 1

    or manually put range 300 - 400 (similar to the sun)
