LumenRT - material mapped incorrectly

I've applied a material to a fairly complex piece of geometry exported from Microstation. On the twisted surface, the mapping degrades as shown.

Is there any way around this problem?

    The mapping was not done in Microstation - the material was applied in LumenRT only.

    I wanted to see how robust LumenRT's material mapping would be on complex geometry.

    I've subsequently done a test by applying materials first in Microstation, and can get the correct results - although it requires more work and two different mapping types (planar and directional drape).

    It would be great if LumenRT had more control over material application to get these results;
