Just playing with the new Vue Render engine in the latest Update - well done to the Viz team, this looks very promising.
Looks Like I am going to have to learn some new workflows...
Regards
Robert
PS Yes I still enjoy what Luxology is able to do. ;-)
Hi Robert,
Yes please test out the Vue render engine in Microstation and give us your feedback. We want as many people as possible to be pushing the render button.
If you want any further features added please submit them to the Microstation ideas forum and I would encourage everyone to vote them up to the top of the list.
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul,
I have not fully read all the documentation, but a workflow document/video would do wonders for adoption.
Often when training/assisting users I have found they have adopted poor workflows, and unintentionally hobble what the Bentley tool can actually do for them because they are treating the tool like its some other software they are already familiar with.
Has there been a SIG focussing on this particular interface?
Hi Max, as Jerry mentioned we will not incorporate the full extend of VUE capabilities in MicroStation as we want it to be an easy to use rendering engine that can leverage VUE's quality and capabilities (atmospheres, ecosystem materials, etc) with some limited capabilities to modify VUE's resources in the rendering process.
VUE is very affordable and allows great control of your renders so we do encourage to buy a copy to all of our users that need this control and the capability of creating atmospheres, etc. All users that do not need that deep dive into rendering can still produce stunning images using our presets with minimal effort. We are working at a render settings dialog that wlll let you modify our presets and give more control.
We will be removing Luxology from MicroStation and all PowerProducts, it happen as soon as Update 16, we will send out timely and appropriate communication asap.
You will still be able to use Luxology by using a copy of MicrosStation Update 15 or earlier so that you can complete or modify your existing projects based on Luxology.
We can also post videos and short tutorials or training courses on Linkedin or other platforms, stay tuned for more information and please keep the feedback coming
Thank you Jerry & Marco - plenty to think about and digest.
Max
Update 16 !?!
Well... Luxology was fun while it lasted.
What will happen with fur settings?
It would be great if we could still use them and more, see them in real time in the view.
José
Hi,
We have done some work to make the most common fur settings generate an ecosystem in the Vue render engine. Not all the settings however map to what can be done with an ecosystem in Vue.
We have however added the ability to import a Vue material into MicroStation, which can contain an ecosystem, as Jerry has done in his image above. There are alot more population settings available in an ecosystem making it more powerful & flexible that was possible with fur.
