The variable MS_LUXOLOGY_HISTORY no longer seems to work, additionally Vue History seems to output to the same location. From the MS Help doc:
Render History
Sets the folder in which to store the history Luxology renderings. The default is ..\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<WorkSpaceName>\WorkSets\<WorkSetName>\Out\Luxology History\ .
When the configuration variable MS_LUXOLOGY_HISTORY is set to a valid directory, the Luxology history images are written to and read from the location specified by this variable. During a design session, you can change the history directory, but it applies only for that session.
However this is not working correctly, and all our files are defaulting to a single workset directory(seems to be the first workset opened with fresh preference files remains in the history setting)
Defaulting to workset directory is also confusing as the history is then shared between users/projects. I want to re-route these to per user folders.
bump.
is there a variable to define wher vue history is saved. The default is in the workset/out directory for some stupid reason. This means that all users on the same project share the same history folder, which is very annoying. I don't want to see pother people work getting in the way of my own.
If defaulting to this location, please add a user folder to the path to seperate by project/by user. If this is not possible, then please default to a local (user) folder. .
Hi,
You can set the history director in the preferences dialog.
Paul
This feature appears in next release U17
Hi Paul, thanks for that, however, in MS U16.3 and OBD U9 there is no rendering tab in preferences.
Additionally I would prefer to set this as a variable in my network configuration(as we used to be able to with Luxo) rather than leaving users to set this manually. Also, there should be a history limit that we are able to set. Currently these folders just collect history images which over time, lead to storage issues.
We want to set this centrally, directed to a users folder on the network, which can be accessed from different PC's by the same user, and monitored by IT to prevent storage issues and limit retention
Which feature. The rendering tab in preferences, or the ability to define this setting by variable?
