The variable MS_LUXOLOGY_HISTORY no longer seems to work, additionally Vue History seems to output to the same location. From the MS Help doc:
Render History
Sets the folder in which to store the history Luxology renderings. The default is ..\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<WorkSpaceName>\WorkSets\<WorkSetName>\Out\Luxology History\ .
When the configuration variable MS_LUXOLOGY_HISTORY is set to a valid directory, the Luxology history images are written to and read from the location specified by this variable. During a design session, you can change the history directory, but it applies only for that session.
However this is not working correctly, and all our files are defaulting to a single workset directory(seems to be the first workset opened with fresh preference files remains in the history setting)
Defaulting to workset directory is also confusing as the history is then shared between users/projects. I want to re-route these to per user folders.
bump.
is there a variable to define wher vue history is saved. The default is in the workset/out directory for some stupid reason. This means that all users on the same project share the same history folder, which is very annoying. I don't want to see pother people work getting in the way of my own.
If defaulting to this location, please add a user folder to the path to seperate by project/by user. If this is not possible, then please default to a local (user) folder. .
Hi,
You can set the history director in the preferences dialog.

Hi Duncan,
Product backlog Item 663101 [VUE] Add an entry for the Vue History folder In the preferences dialog in the render section.
Regarding your request for configuration variable to control this, have you added this idea to https://microstation.ideas.aha.io/?

Any movement on this regression in functionality? Having this setting only available as a user preference is not suitable in a large office.Throughout the course of a project we produce hundreds, if not thousands of images, and many times more BIMG files are created through the process. Temp render history files defaulting to project folders is NOT acceptable. size grows to many GB's. every MB has a cost in terms of storage and back-up. It is not a practical solution to have this setting in user preferences as relies on users to change this ,manually for each project they work in.
Why was the option removed in the first place, who thought a variable was not required for something that produces many GB's of data on the fly???
Please rectify this, without me having to post an idea (to fix a regression in capability) and hope that enough people support before bentley even consider it, then again taking 6 months or a year+ to implement.
