2d CAD geometry NOT supported in LumenRT?

Listening to yesterday's SIG, it was mentioned that 2d CAD geometry is not supported in LumenRT.

This means that vector-based info like plans and sections can not be imported or animated.

I think that this is a huge gap and prevents LumenRT from being a working review and presentation tool.

I understand that Bentley's iTwins has modified Cesium's 3D Tiles format to accommodate BIM elements better. I wonder if LRT should not do the same for both BIM and CAD elements?

One workaround is the automated raster conversion (with alpha channel, transparency support) for any plans. This would include any plans or sections that are defined as Dynamic Views in Mstn, which are presumably retained when published as an i.model.

For reviewing purposes, there is always a need to flip back and forth between the 3d model and 2d drawings. Design review by looking at the 3d model only is a bit of myth. A lot of info is still provided in the 2d drawing sheet or models. It would be very useful to retain this kind of info in LumenRT.
