Hello,
I have an issue with creating shadow animation using Solar Study in MicroStation Connect.
While I can see the shadows of objects outside the borders of the viewport with Illustration: Shadows display style, these shadows are not visible when creating animation using solar study.
It seems that solar study renders the shadow of objects inside the views only and ignore the shadows of objects outside the view borders, despite that they are active.

The Visualization Forum would be a better place to post your question. You can move your post using the More|Move button.

Try the following:
Now when you render the animation using this Render Setup you should get shadows from object not visible in the view window.

It seems that I have no permission to move the post to the visualisation forum.
Thanks, Ron,
That didn't fix the issue, unfortunately. It works fine in V8I but not in Connect.
I have a similar issue. I don't believe it is a true visualization issue as it will render in my situation using the Luxology render scene method. Hence the tick working for Render Geometry Outside View.
The Solar study uses the basic Microstation render styles like shaded etc and this is where how it is shown in view is different to how it is saved out using the solar study or even the image save dialog.
I also found it will not print to PDF with the shadows. So it makes it very difficult to create a simple shaded view with shadows for a diagram.
If anyone knows how to fix this that would be fantastic. (as you say v8i works fine)
Here is an example of the print preview showing no shadows of elements outside of the view.
Saved out using Save Image
however rendered out using Luxology
Thanks
