I have created an animation and I want to render it using 'record script' however it is remaining low quality (the same visually as the 3D model space) rather than producing realistically rendered images.
What are the best settings for this output file?

Try setting higher horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) resolution in pixels and decreasing the degree of compression.
You might also want to play with the antialiasing setting

it has been a while since I recorded animations. By maybe you need to set it to luxology rendering rather than smooth?
