It seems Luxology is no longer available as a rendering option with the latest CE Update 16. The announcement was made in the general Microstation Forum, but not here in the Visualization Forum, which I would have thought should be the case.
This post is just to warn users that their current projects which rely on Luxology rendering would be forced to use Path Tracing/ Ray Tracing - this could be a problem if you have imminent deadlines which rely on render settings already established in CE15 and earlier. Fortunately, v8i SS10 is still available to perform these renders if you have it installed.
I've not had time to test the Vue renderer - and it may turn out to be an improvement - but just thought people subscribed to this forum should be informed.

That's why i always talked : Bentley should work on they own , modern renderer ( like old before luxology but in modern way like lumion , d5, unreal, unity, twinmotion etc ) They should take a team and make some spectacular soft and can sell to others. How many times we need to change engine? And still in build or not working correctly. Now it looks the same : change engine, works few years with us to make it working better and if it works ok they change engine... Propably Vue works few years and goes away... I don't know why Bentley react so slow in today reality... For example dark mode / modern looking / i talked about few years ago with first dark mode Photoshop... Why so slow in GPU renders tech etc...
Check LumenRT - how you can compare quality with Lumion, d5 or Twinmotion for example ? From grass to sky... Still LumenRt renders looks like years ago... D5 render for example is small team, few clever guys without big budget but they works as big company. I dont know if buying Modo technology, than E-on tech, than .... is good way...maybe cheaper than few guys real working hard...? I have the impression that they bet on the wrong horse every time.
I never change Microstation for other software but i am frustrating about politics and changes we dont want... / Tasks and patended position mapping is good example /
But i am not a businessman.
Btw is RPC still working?
Ps sorry for my english ;)

I think it happens now, because in the past, rendering engines were licensed (the exception is the original one), whereas e-on software is Bentley company now.

I do not think so, because after many years the engine is developed by company owned by Bentley.
What I do not understand why this change has been implemented so late (e-on Software was acquired in 2015) and with extremely short transition period.

Maybe it's about management decision, development priorities and also OPEX vs CAPEX? ;-)

I disagree a bit. In my opinion the problem is that whereas Bentley are great in technology development (power platform, now iTwins...), they fail repeatedly to explain features and also long term vision to community and make it "a hype".
Now, when VUE is promoted, users are confused and the situation is really confusing:
In my opinion, the problem (for the most of users, which are not visualization gurus) is not the quality, but a lack of clear information, explanations and tutorials.

It's hard to disagree with you Jan.
I cross my finger for good stuff from Bentley and clear info.
