[MStn CE U16] Why VUE alwyas ends with black image?

Hi,

I do something obviously wrong, but I am not able to find what is it ;-)

When I use VUE Raytracing, an image is generated. When I switched the render to Path Tracing, black image is generated always.

As an example, I tried Living_Room dataset:

Raytracing produces this image (materials are not correct, because not correct workspace with all relevant materials was used):

When switched to Path Tracing with the same settings, this is produced:

I am not sure whether it's relevant, but for some reason, even when Interior Best is selected, the message tells "with Exterior Final".

Used configuration (all updates and drivers are at the latest versions):

  • Windows 10 Czech
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700
  • 32 GB RAM

With regards,

  • Maybe I found a source of the problem: I found VUE log (quite accidentally, because there is no information available such log exists) and it tells:

The last line is important I guess:

It shows how crappy this alpha version of VUE integration is, because at the same time, Message Center tells the render is complete, but no information about any error or warning:

When there is a problem with OpenCL, I would expect the calculation is done on processor, but seems it does not happen.

Other OpenCL software (Geekbench 5, Blender) works perfectly fine and AMD Radeon GPU is used for calculations.

  • Hi Leonard,

Can you try the dataset in this link

it's exactly the dataset I used to create images for my initial post.

Is there any configuration to specify "do not use OpenCL Framework", so processor will be used (as available in some other SW)?

Also, I still do not find a reason why the message is always "Rendered in ... with Exterior Final at ..." regardless what render quality option I choose.

    Regards,

      Jan
