Hello to all,is there any contraindication in setting C: / and D: / in MS_BUMP and MS_PATTERN by making the system simply search in all the paths indicated in the materials?
Thanks.
Hi,
You can add the same paths to MS_BUMP & MS_PATTERN, if that is what you are asking.
Paul
Hello Paul,
yes I know that I can put different paths, I was just wondering if, since if I set up a specific path eg. c:\jobs\texture the system also automatically searches in all subfolders found in "texture" (eg "c:\jobs\ texture\ plaster" or/and "c: \jobs\texture \ stucco" and so on)
I was wondering if it was possible to skip everything just by indicating c:\ as the texture search path.
Since the system searches for subfolders as well, I just wonder if (and how much) this can slow down the whole workflow.
D.
Searching the file system is slow, whilst we cache the results the initial startup would take time. I would recommend not using c:\ due to the large number of file searches required.
Setting root folder for "sub-folder search" is not advisable; especially C:\ - there are too many files. Much better to create the folder structures and maintain that structure.
