exporting UV map

Hi,

1.) is there a way to Export and Import the UV-map form Microstation without converting the Model?

I'm aware that i could use export to .obj than Blender/Cinema4d etc and back to MS-C16. But this would destroy AECO Properties.

2.) Will PlantFactory become part of MS Visiual solutions?

thx

  • PBR Materials are not supportet by MS obj export?

so MS mtl export looks like this:

    newmtl Ash-light_simple.dgn_3D_Metric_Design_Wood_458_vis
        Ns 5.000000
        Kd 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
        Ks 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000

        map_Kd C:\ProgramData\Bentley\connectsharedcontent\materials\PBR_Materials\Wood28_baseColor.jpg

    newmtl Block_(Grey)_simple.dgn_3D_Metric_Design_Blocks&Bricks_471_vis
        Ns 5.000000
        Kd 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
        Ks 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000

        map_Kd C:\ProgramData\Bentley\connectsharedcontent\materials\PBR_Materials\CMU01baseColor.jpg

  • Hi,

The .obj format doesnt support the PBR material specification.

What do you want to do with the UV values ? Solids in Microstation get converted to meshes when exporting to mesh based formats, .obj, .fbx, they are only retained as BREP's for formats such as JT. Understanding what you are needing this information for will allow us to help you further.

There is no plan to include PlantFactory in Microstation, you can in Vue create a material which uses plant factory plants in an eco system and then use that material in Microstation for your renders allowing plant factory plants to be visible in a render.
