Hi There,
I'm hvaing trouble getting a background to be visible in a vue render from Microstation. Anyone got any ideas where I'm going wrong?
The view dialog box with a vessel rendered, but showing a black background.
The Atmosphere editor dialog box, on the Environment Map tab, with Environment Map ticked and a image selected and a Mapping mode of Cylindrical.
The vue render dialog is pointing to the Atmosphere preset of 'Myles' which has the Environment Map set as above. To my understanding the sky background should be rendered?
What am I doing wrong??
Cheers,
Myles.
It looks like it's related to the 'relighting' check button on the top of the vue render dialog. If I have this checked the renderer behave differently and produces vastly differend results:-
With the relighting button checked:-
note the post render setting dialog to the right showing re-lighting options
then the same render, the only difference un checking the relighting option before rendering:-
Why would unchecking the relighting option allow the background image to be visible while checking would produce a black background and highly distorted lighting?
Hi,
Its probably best to send us your file to investigate that.
Regards
Paul
Was this issue resolved Paul. I am experiencing the same with U17. Not sure if maybe an issue with installation, as there appears to be no environment information on any of the atmospheres, apart from material preview?
Can you send me your file I will take a look.
The atmospheres are in the render.dgnlib, in the installation MicroStation\Default\Dgnlib\Render
Are there any variables that would affect this Paul. The files exist, but when I work on network config they don't work, testing on delivered workspace all seems ok.
Yes, it could be affected by your workspace, making it look in a different location, you can specify a cfg var where to look for dgnlibs, which also can affect it, MS_DGNLIBLIST_RENDER
It must be picking up a different file. you can try setting MS_DGNLIBLIST_RENDER to only look in the one directory.
