A simple 3D file - export to SKETCHUP in v8i;
Take the same file and export in CE (Update 16)
Yet another reason why Connect edition fails, and I'm glad to have kept v8i to get the job done.

To add to this - certain element types don't get translated at all in CE, while v8i faithfully translated to CE.
Bentley has broken the SKP exporter in CE.
Please fix.
Still hoping for comments on this, so here's an illustration of the problem.
v8i accurately translates all geometry to SKP, but CE (u16) still fails at this simple task.

It's not clear what you mean by "the Bug", when I've identified at least four. Do we have access to your Bug list so that I can see what BUG 893734 refers to?
Below is another summary of the issues. Peter, thanks for your contribution - if I understand correctly it sounds like Sketchup changed something which made the Saved View translation difficult/ impossible to implement in the CE 64bit > SKP exporter?

For Initial view, save view and transparency issue, We have filed the below bug earlier. As Peter mentioned 64 bit SketchUp API issue. It is unresolved till now.

Thank you Pravin, as I said - fortunately V8i still does the job properly so at least I have a work-around while these CE bugs get ironed out.
Sketchup export still not working properly in Microstation 2023. I fail to understand why Bentley even offers this export option if they're unable to maintain development of it.
It worked perfectly well in Microstation v8i but was broken with Connect Edition. I know the blame gets transferred to Trimble, but is Bentley really just allowing "Sketchup support to die a natural death"?
We have filed new bugs for each issue separately.
We will readdress these issue to SketchUp.

Thanks Pravin - although I note bugs were filed in May 2022 but have not been fixed. I'm hoping for better luck this time round.
As I keep saying - Microstation v8i still does the job perfectly, while CE has provided nothing but regression from the day it was released.
To illustrate the failure of CONNECT to export Sketchup files correctly - see below.
