Hi, it will be interesting to have the possibility to display cavity in solid shading mode like in Blender or Revit !

Maybe it will be soon possible ?
Fabrice
Not exactly the same thing but in the display style dialog you can edit the display style to show visible edges:

Hi David, thank you for the link. Yes this not the same. The idea is to have the possibility to add soft shadow, as ambiant occlusion in the view. Now we have PBR material. So maybe AO will come soon like other software.
Why you need this Fabrice ? For print ? or just for fun... because as i see in Blender idea is just to have clear visible image - so illustration mode with shadows is ok with this.
But in fact i miss Phong shading or Particle trace for example - maybe it is not bad idea to bring back old Microstation "in view" render and add this to view styles ? As i remember - you can print to 3d pdf with rendered Particle trace in scale for example.... So why don't bring back this ( just as was )
@martinzx. That's what i liked most about those old render modes particle trace and ray trace. That it allowed baking of shadows into your pdf. It really upped the pdf. Now pdf just looks flat. But render mode phong... mweh.

Hi, this is more for modeling to have clear and soft shadow. With sun, on my laptop, hard shadow takes time and i have hard contrast. So I need to take time to try to balance flash and ambiant. It would be also interesting for quick screenshot instead of using AO. They are using this option for a long in Revit.
But I also realy miss Particle trace for printing 3D PDF. It was so realistic models....
I found Simlab composer for exemple for baking texture : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltaQztTzqaM So maybe it will be possible again in Microstation without Particle trace. It is possible to use it with many softwares but still not for Microstation. Why not ask the possibility to include this plugin ?? https://www.simlab-soft.com/3d-plugins.aspx?utm_source=3dpdf-solution-skp&utm_medium=3dpdf-solution-skp
