Has anyone experienced issues with lighting and rendering in OpenRoads Designer CE-2021 Release 2 Update 10 Version 10.10.21.04? No matter what light or atmosphere settings I use the rendered lighting is always the same, dark/night.
Also, where are is the default lighting settings saved to on local drives? I would like to make some custom lighting and update the default library.
Also, all of my atmosphere options are gray, is this normal? or is it because MicroStation can't find the correct files?
I've followed all of the visualization videos' on the Bentley Youtube channel, but don't see anything on troubleshooting lighting and atmosphere.

Any advice, directions on how to setup the configurations and/or lighting libraries and atmosphere's would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Ariel Rauk
Hi Ariel,
Did you try to adjust the brightness by moving the slider? You can also try changing the tone mapping by right-clicking on the brightness icon in the render dialog. I see you may have enabled relighting so you may have more adjustments. On the right hand side of the render dialog there is a little arrow clicking on it will reveal the other adjustments that you can use to adjust the image in post-processing including adding NPR effects.
Cheers,
Jerry
Hi Jerry! Thank you for your response. The brightness slider didn't give the results I was looking for (color was still dark/night colors were just lighter).
I need to keep adjusting the settings, but adjusting the ton mapping on the brightness icon helped.
Thanks again!
I see that you used Exterior Best for this scene, Exterior Good should be sufficient and your render time will be much less. The Atmospheres are stored in Render.dgnlib if you edit one with the Atmosphere dialog you would get a local copy and it would then not be grayed out. I don't understand why there is light under that bridge where it should be in shadow. Something is clearly wrong can you open Solar Position tab and make sure the sun position is correct?
Hi Jerry,
There are some issues with shadows under the bridge. Below are the settings I'm using insides of MicroStation.
When I export the model to LumenRT, I get environmental lighting as you'd expect (shadows under the bridges that move as the sun/time changes). But if I place any light (using the place light tool in LumenRT) No light shows up under the bridge.
No light on under bridge
Change the time of day to night time or right at sunrise or sunset then you should see the light in LumenRT.
