It has been a while but I remember companies that sold actors from Lumen RT
Not sure if that is our current animation SW but I need actors for sports and cannot find ant by searching the web.

Have you tried Make Human? It is free open-source software for creating realistic people. Once you have the character if you have an Adobe login you can use Maximo to rig the character easily. I showed this workflow in one of my SIGs years ago. Even if don't have an Adobe login you can sign up for free at Maximo site.
