I wonder what is the point having option various mapping methods for material maps in Microstation 2023 and CE17 when in real life they don't work with VUE rendering engine?
EDIT: ok, I managed to get elevation draping to work by resetting mapping method of my pattern maps to 'parametric' and back to 'elevation drape'.
I made a couple of test renderings with my old material palettes. Materials which use elevation draping don't work with VUE engine without editing them one by one. The draping method will be ingored by the rendering engine. The material will be draped only if I change the mapping method to 'parametric' in the material editor, save the material and then change it back to 'elevation draping' but even then there are lots of artefacts in the final rendered image (see triange edges of my DTM. They look fine on screenshot but VUE warps them in a strange way).
EDIT: after further testing it seems that problem occurs only if the material uses a displacement map. The material renders ok if displacement is off.
Can you share these test files for review?
Here is a quick demo: I created a meadow material which mapping method is 'elevation drape'. The material looks fine in quick view but VUE renderer will stretch it off-scale. It should be easy to demonstarate. Just create whatever material, select mapping method 'elevation drape' for the pattern map and render the view.
