Save sketchup model with material in a easy way?

Hi, when I import a sketchup model, the material is located in some temp folder, so when I do a save as to a location where I would like to store the model I loose all the material.

Of course I can copy all the materials from the temp location into the correct folder and reassign the material.

But wouldn't it be nice when I do a save as to have everything included?

Or do I do something wrong? How do you do when saving models from 3D Warehouse to your local system?

  • Reviving an old thread, I know - but I'd really like to know why this is made so complicated?

    1.  Open a SKP in the latest Microstation Connect Edition
    2.  Microstation places the material textures temporarily in an obscure Temp folder (/AppData/Local/Temp/Bentley/Microstation/10.0.0).
    3.  Save file as DGN
    4.  Microstation deletes all the material textures - never to be seen again.

Question is, why after over 10 years is this still an issue? I know it's possible to tweak paths/ copy to folders, etc - but surely Bentley could make SKP/DGN interoperability easier?
