Enjoy!

  • Here's a test render using one of the environments from the pack.

If you've grabbed the package, post some images and let us know what you think!

  • Evan can you please post a screen grab of your render settings/lighting settings/environment settings for the image you posted above.

I just want to try to recreate as I've never had much real success with HDR based renderings in the past.

    Many thanks

    Rob

  • Sure thing!  The material is really not physically correct, but it worked for what I wanted to do.  All of the lights are off, so the only thing that's lighting the scene is the environment.  All of the environment settings are default, it's just using the "SES1 - 003" environment from the 9b Studios package.  Here are the shots of the material settings and the render settings.

The render settings are just Exterior Good with a 2.8 f-stop for the depth of field.

    Hope this helps!

A few test renderings using some of the HDRI environments in the SES1 package. I've used the HDRI's for lighting and reflections.

The materials in this scene are not meant to be 100% realistic, I just wanted the glossy wood to reflect some of the environment, and use an SSS material that is environment light sensitive (click on images for higher resolution)

  • Evan,

Does the 'Studio Environment Package' perform any rendering configuration other than using an HDR image for the light source?

From what I can tell, there is an HDR image mapped to an environment setting, but the Light Setup and Rendering Setup are unaffected. I would have thought there would be companion Light Setups (ie. interior best, interior good, etc).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Sean
