I have been working in a 3d drawing fixing some triangles for a rendering, using Microstation SS3. When I am in the process of drawing the new triangles in my screens go black and then it comes back and the image below displayed in the lower right corner. Has any one else seen this issue. Is this a software issue or do I need to contact NVIDIA or Dell on this issue. I have also has it where the whole computer freezes and I have to reboot by pushing the button, and had it crash and give me the blue screen today.

Try installing the latest driver. Ver. 297.03 (date: 07-18-2012)

Definitely try the latest driver as already suggested.
For additional information, read the first entry in the MicroStation Known Issues FAQ that starts with "Screen goes black..."

Unfortunately with that driver the same thing happened to me. I'm now with beta 301.42 and the driver never recovers, and everday the screens goes black and I have to reboot manually. :( This also happens without Microstation.

Hello Jose,
please set Environment Variable QV_D3DVERSION = 9 ,
From Control panel > System and Security >System >Advance system settings >Environment variable
add new variable QV_D3DVERSION with value 9 , it will set direct X version to 9 instead of 11
set variable in System variable option ,
hopefully it will resolve Screen blackout issue

I've also observed this issue some times back on my laptop (only) and its kind of random issue, and its machine and drivers specific. You can also try using QV_D3DVERSION=9 using Environment variables as Harshad mentioned. If you still get the same issue, try disabling your second monitor to narrow down the problem.
