Issue working in 3D

I have been working in a 3d drawing fixing some triangles for a rendering, using Microstation SS3. When I am in the process of drawing the new triangles in my screens go black and then it comes back and the image below displayed in the lower right corner. Has any one else seen this issue. Is this a software issue or do I need to contact NVIDIA or Dell on this issue. I have also has it where the whole computer freezes and I have to reboot by pushing the button, and had it crash and give me the blue screen today.

  • I should have been a bit more clear in my earlier post...

We are very aware of this issue and have provided a detailed explanation and a workaround in the MicroStation Known Issues FAQ.  communities.bentley.com/.../4172.aspx

We continue to work closely with NVIDIA, and we will post new information as soon as it is available.

If you have any questions, please post them here or send e-mail to russell.smith@bentley.com

    Thanks,

  • I think I have this problem too, I get a freeze; first I can move the mouse but I cannot interact with MS, then the mouse disappear and finally the screen goes black. This happened with the game Counter-Strike Source once as well. Although it happens all the time with MS 08.11.09.292, especially when I work in wireframe top view.

Actually the version that works best for me is 08.11.09.119, which is the one I am using. I know it is beta, but it is actually the only version that does not cause me problems. SS1 and SS2 have problems with zoom, where I loose track of geometry all the time, and SS3 292 freezes.

I have a Nvidia Asus ENGTX 465. I use Driver version 295.73, I used a later version before, but read about how gamers had problems with those versions and people recommended staying with 295.73 for the time being. 295.73 works better, less freezing, but not perfect. Latest version works worse for me.

The biggest problem with the freezing is how you actually loose your work, there is no auto-save as when MS crashes, since it is the whole computer that freeze. I am not very keen on trying out DX9 and such, because this error really caused alot of loss of work. I will stick with 119 until this is resolved.
