Hi
I just did a solar study render of a house entrance. I used to do it before few time and AFAIR there always was a litlle clock counting hours - showing actual time of the day as the shadows move. Now I only have the name of the .avi file showed over this little animation.
Is this a change, that was made or I can still have the clock showing time progress instead of the name of the file and then it is only a question of a parameter change. I will appreciate your help.
Regards
Wojtek
Hi,
There hasnt been any changes to the solar time cell containing the time text. All you need to do is place the cell and it should show the time. You can edit the text to change the format of the time display if you want.

Hi Paul,
Sorry, it probably is a dumb question but how can I do it. What needs to be changed to gat the clock back. Can I still edit the .avi files or I must render the scenas again after the change it made?
Hi Wojtek,
The solar time cell slrtim.cel is located in the system\cell\animator.cel file and you will need to render the frames with this visible in the view. As Paul mentioned you can change the font but you need to do this by opening the cell file and changing it there before you place it.
Don't forget to turn off or uncheck the option the option to ignore open elements and text, we have this on by default and you need that off to render the text.
Cheers,
Jerry
Hello Jerry,
I do not know much about animating things in Microstation.
I placed the cell in the view and unchecked the "ignore" option in the luxology settings as instructed. I did the solar study render once again. I certainly did something wrong as in the animation I have the following text only "Solar time: %c" visible. Exactly as the cell text says.
Do you have any idea what do I do wrong?
I appreciate your help, best regards
Are you sure you have solar light on in your light setup and that you have default lighting off in the view or have ignore default lighting in your render setup?
