Rendering Lighting Version 08.11.09.593

Hi,

I am trying to install accurate lighting within a room i have created. So far the only way I can illuminate the room is to place 21 area lights (each light is 20 x 200W industrial bulbs). For rendering purposes it does the job but practically it is ridiculous.

Any help on how I can solve this issue is appreciated.

  • Hallo  Josh

Sometimes the world od 3D is strange and also a bit ridiculous,

I have look to your dgn,

(Without the master dgn a bit difficult to check what your lightcells raely are)

But put an enviroment in your scene

close the sun light and flash light  -

give your material of the lamp  a little glow

look to the reflection of all your materials,

special of your wall and  floor materials,

and it can change your mind a bit,

otherways ask some of the bentey-visualisation specialist

    Greetings from Hamburg Germany

    have nice weekend

  • Thank you, that has helped.

I am now having a problem when I try to print a 3D PDF. When i view the print preview it looks like this:

When I print the PDF it comes out like this:

I have a long look through the PDF print options and I'm not sure how to fix this.

Once again any help is appreciated.

  • Old Mstn make 3d pdf from particle trace - it looks nice.

I make a own test and i see the lights in my project.

I make a point light and make higher value  about 100 000 lumens

In 3d print  shaded view and lights from file  ( default light is off in microstation view settings ! )

It not exactly the same as preview but i think is difference between gamma in Mstn and Pdf

So maybe copy lights as new setup only for pdf and add lumens to each.

Btw am i right that you have area lights on the same height - level as ceiling ? No hole for lights ? Maybe its a problem too ?

  • I've made a copy of the room, added point lights at 100000 lumens and cut holes for the lights in the ceiling and it doesn't seem to change anything.

You mentioned default light being off. In my pdf it looks like default lighting is on. Can I turn default lighting off for the pdf?

I am new to using this software so I apologise for maybe not understanding the basics.

  • In print settings -  3d plotting - did you use lighting metod  from file ?

I try another project and i see problem, too , but i see the lights but very very low...

i try all too max but not help :(

    Yeah something is wrong

and background color is not working too -  but  i have .357 version
