Today I did some tests with lights. Strange thing is that If I want to add volume effects in the testmodel, nothing happens. If I make a new model, and add some lights with volume effects however,it does work.
Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance Louis
Maybe you don's see because you look on front and on the white wall ? ;)
Btw Louis can you send me this file - I want to have this light effects but never had. Or post me the setting
because looking very nice. Is there a "separator" in 3d model or something 3d that this light are so cool ?
Hi Martin,
I've mailed you the files.
Unfortunately the problem is not caused by the direction of the camera view. I tried several colors, and none of them where visible. A new file with an equal camera view remarkable does works.
Regards Louis
Hi,
Looking at your settings it appears like it should work. Can you email me the file and I will take a look.
Paul
Hi Paul,
I just mailed a package file of the model.
Thanks,
Louis
Hi Louis,
The volume effect is there its just being washed out by the white reflecting walls of your test scene and when you adjust the image brightness to compensate for this the effect is lost. In the image below I changed the colour of the material to blue and increased the density and scattering of the volume effect to make it more pronounced. It does appear there is a bug here as you can see the volume effect behind the wall. I will have to follow up on that.
Regards

Thank you Paul!
Do you also know what caused the effect manager probleem?
Sorry Louis, which effects manager problem ?
If I render the file with the effect manager for preview, and put all (spot) lights off, they still are on in the visible and environment layers.
