In effects manager, there is a useful Gain slider, that lets you push a light source's illumination up beyond its lumens value. Is there a similar thing in the standard luxology render interface?
Or should one multiply the lumens value by the gain in the material editor (if using a glow material) to translate the effect form the effects manager?
Hi Tim,
You can push the values back to the design session from the Effects Manager to get the same result. We added this ability to the Effects Manager when we added it to SS3 update last Summer so if you have version 08.11.09.459 or later you should have this.
Once you push the sessions back to the design session you will have an Effects Manager Light Setup and Environment Setup just use those to render.
This will also push the modified glow values back to the palette or palettes.

Jerry thanks for the reply,
But what if the Push Settings tab is greyed out as per the image? I manipulate the sliders but the 'update settings' icon sometimes does not allow me to push them through
Try saving as efx file and open from that rather than loading bimg files then you should be able to push the settings back to design session.
I tried, but ir doesn't work; loading .efx seems to work with some files but not others. Could it be that in some files the link back to the Microstation file and luxology become broken?
If you cannot load the efx file the push is not going to work that is where we store all the information that needs to go back to the design session. Can you render another stack of images using Effects Manager and try again?
