Rendering crashes with "system fault: bad memory access" warning.

Hi all,

I am trying to render various views of a model using AECOsim Building Designer v8i (Select Series 5) version 8.11.9.747, however it constantly crashes during the preprocessing stage of the render. After aborting the programme, I then get a "System fault: bad memory access" warning. I was wondering if there was something I could do to stop this happening? The same thing is happening to a colleague of mine who is working on a different file.

The models that we are trying to render views of are quite large, yet the computers have 24GB of RAM available and are both 64-bit Windows 7 Operating Systems. I have attached an image of the dialogue box that appears when trying to render.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Peter.

  • Peter,

I'm experiencing the same on a frequent basis. Not only with the latest version but with all previous ones. Therefore I thought it was hardware related, graphics card, motherboard, RAM?

It is definitely related to AECO Sim, if you render the same file in plain Microstation you will not have that problem.

I you don't have that possibility, the only thing what mostly helps is shut down your workstation and reboot.

    Very annoying, I know.
