SR 9 / SR 204 Intersection Improvements

This is a video to introduce the intersection improvements to the local community and stakeholders.

The modeling was done in MicroStation and then exported to LumenRT for animation and rendering. It uses MicroStation traffic for the continuous free-flow of traffic on SR 9 below SR 204. The vehicles and people on the bridge on SR 204 and adjacent streets and sidewalks were placed and animated directly in LumenRT to show specific traffic and pedestrian movements.

  • Ron,

How did you make the traffic come to a stop at the red light?  I am seeing how to delay start traffic, but not how to stop it?

    Thanks

    Troy

  • Hi Troy,

It took a bit of trial & error, but ended up working pretty good. I placed all of the vehicles a few hundred feet from the stop location and created the animation paths for each vehicle. I gave each vehicle a slightly different start time so they wouldn't drive along in a tight group. I include a keyframe point on each path where I wanted the vehicle to stop at the intersection. For that keyframe I set a pause time, so the car would come to a stop at that location and then proceed after the pause time had elapsed. I adjusted the start times and the pause times for each vehicle so they would appear to be cooperating with the others to proceed in an safe fashion.

    Regards,
    Ron
