Path trace render using VUE in MicroStation of old Philadelphia Convention Center model.
This type of scene should be no problem to render with path tracer.
Hi Jerry, I am very interested in the results of your film test. You know that we produce often turntables like this:
Is this possible with VUE?
The render posted was around 34 minutes for 4K resolution using 1024 samples per pixel your mileage may vary;-) also you can get a good result using 256 samples in much less time. Interior scenes will require more samples per pixel than exteriors, fully lit exterior scenes for example would only need 64 to 256 samples.
Good question on animation, I have not tried rendering animation frames with path tracer, but my guess would be our current denoisers are not optimized for animation and could result in flicker between frames. For exterior scenes you could path trace render without denoiser using 256 to 512 samples per pixel. I know this approach works because I used Luxology Monte Carlo many times for exterior animations. I will try to do some testing with path traced interior animations and let you know.
Hi Jerry, that sounds good and what´s about film and animation. How long was the render time for the picture?
Kind regards Gerd
Hi Gerd, not in update 15 but will be possible in update 16 by using spherical or cylindrical camera projection. Will be a render settings option.
Hi Jerry, looks great. Is there the possibility to make Panorma-picuteres and films with VUE at the moment?
Look great !
Looks great !
