With thanks to &lt;em&gt;Roland Cyr&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em&gt;Doug Watt&lt;/em&gt; for contributing these nifty little macros that opens Windows Explorer and takes you to the folder of your active design file. Roland did the one for MicroStation V8, while Doug contributed the macro for MicroStation V7. Thanks guys!&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;MicroStation V8&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Download &lt;a href="/askingapics/267.zip"&gt;267.zip&lt;/a&gt; and extract &lt;em&gt;explorer1.mvba&lt;/em&gt; from the zip file.&lt;br /&gt;
Place the mvba in the folder pointed to by MS_VBASEARCHDIRECTORIES&lt;br /&gt;
Keyin &lt;em&gt;vba load explorer1&lt;/em&gt;to load the project, or...&lt;br /&gt;
Configure MS_VBAAUTOLOADPROJECTS to automatically load the mvba project upon startup.&lt;br /&gt;
Keyin &lt;em&gt;vba run [explorer1]explore.explorerfile &lt;/em&gt;to run the macro, or...&lt;br /&gt;
Place the keyin on a function key or custom button for quick and easy access.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Note: You can accomplish the same thing with this generic MicroStation keyin:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;em&gt;$ % explorer /e, /select, $(_DGNFILE)&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
