Create a selection set with crossing mode

In MicroStation V8i, the direction you drag the mouse determines which elements are added to the selection set.

If you drag the selection box from left to right, the mode is set to inside.  However, if you drag from right to left,  the selection box is shown with a dashed outline and the mode is set to overlap.  While in the overlap mode, you can quickly change to inside by simply tapping the SHIFT key while dragging.

NOTE:  To set the selection mode to overlap in previous versions of MicroStation, hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys while dragging the selection box.
