Use keyboard shortcuts to launch your programs

Here's a great tip that Thor Leslie posted to the V8.General newsgroup:

From your desktop program icon, right-click and go to Properties. Then put your cursor in the Shortcut field and press the desired combinations of keys. For example, CTRL + ALT + 8

I use a series of shortcuts to launch programs:

    CTRL+ALT+8 for MicroStation V8
    CTRL+ALT+U for MicroStation J
    CTRL+ALT+W for Microsoft Word
    CTRL+ALT+N for Notpad, and
    CTRL+ALT+O for Outlook Express

No searching for icons....Doesn't matter what dialogs are open obscuring icons or start menus! I'd be lost without it...Try it!
