    Close modal dialogs with ESC

A modal dialog can be described as a child window that requires the user to interact with it before returning to the parent dialog. Take for example, the Models dialog. This can be described as the parent, while the Edit Model Properties dialog would be a child. Ditto with the Create Model, Copy Model, and Import Models dialogs.

In any case, to quickly close a model dialog, just tap the ESC key. Note that this is standard operating procedure for Windows applications and is not limited to MicroStation.
