*Set the default Snap Mode* as a User Preference**
In 08.09.03 you'll find a new variable that enables you to tell MicroStation where to get the default snap mode and multi-snap settings from. MS_SNAPMODE_SOURCE = 0 (or undefined) is the legacy setting whereby the default snap mode comes from the current design file. MS_SNAPMODE_SOURCE = 1 stores the default snap mode as part of the User Preferences and applies it to each file upon opening. In the clip below, pay attention to the snap mode and note how it's retained from file to file.
