Using a system variable for your license folder
By default MicroStation looks in the
.../program/licensing/
folder for the license file. However, if you're like many of us and have several versions of Bentley software and find yourself constantly moving or copying your license files around, you may benefit from defining a system variable to point to an alternate folder.
Go to
Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environmental Variables
and set
_USTN_LICENSING
to the folder containing your licenses.
