    Problem Description

Image from a reference file appears darker in MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) 08.11.09.xxx than it did in MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 2) 08.11.07.xx. Neither the Global Brightness setting in the view attributes, nor the Adjust View Brightness setting on the view toolbox change the images appearance.

    Reason

In versions previous to MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) "Ignore lighting” was not available in the display styles. However the appearance matches MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 2) when it is checked on (ignore lighting).

    Steps to Resolve

Go to Settings>Display Styles. Select Smooth (Display Style Name) on the left and check on ‘Ignore Lighting’ on the right at the top in the Render Mode section. You may need to refresh your screen for the change to be displayed.
