    Cannot Copy/Cut and Paste

      Product: MicroStation
      Version: V8 ,XM ,V8i, CONNECT
      Environment: N\A
      Area: DGN
      Subarea: General

    Error or Warning Message

"Elements not written to the clipboard"
From Message Center: "Unable to write to the clipboard file: \[path_to_file]\clipboard.dgn"

    Explanation

When copying/cutting and pasting elements using CTRL+C/CTRL+X and then pasting using CTRL + V (or using Edit > Copy, Edit > Cut and Edit >Paste) between files or even within files, MicroStation creates a file called clipboard.dgn in it's temp folder. If user does not have windows privileges to write to this folder, this may cause problems.

    How to Avoid
