Circles or Spheres appear hexagon like when saved to DWG

      Product: MicroStation
      Version: 08.11.09.459
      Environment: N\A
      Area: DWG
      Subarea: Save

    Problem Description

When a model of a sphere is attached as a reference (viewed as a circle) using a reference presentation other than Wireframe, and then saved to DWG with visible edges merged, the resulting DWG displays the circle with hexagon/jagged like or straight edges, see image 1.

    Steps to Resolve

    1. Open the model in the DGN which has the sphere attached as a reference
    2. Go to File > Save As and change 'Save as type' to DWG
    3. Click on the Options button to open the Save As DWG/DXF Options dialog
    4. Select the References tab and turn on the option 'Merge Visible Edges of 3D Attachments'
    5. To the left of the tick box for 'Merge Visible Edges of 3D Attachments', there is an icon which opens the Visible Edge Settings (see image 2 attached showing this)
    6. The Visible Edge Settings dialog should open
    7. In the General Tab, change the Method to 'Exact' - this should help with the appearance of the circle
    8. Click OK, and OK again in the Save As DWG/DXF Options dialog
    9. Save the file and check if it has improved appearance of circle
