Problem

How do you convert a .plt (text) plot driver configuration file to a .pltcfg (XML) file?

 

Solution

Take the following steps:
1) Edit the .plt file and locate the 'model' and 'driver' values; this will verify which .pltcfg file to use as a template when converting the .plt file.
2) From within MicroStation, select File>Print>File>Select Bentley Driver and select the .pltcfg file which matches the model/driver values obtained in Step 1.
3) Once the correct .pltcfg file is chosen, select File>Edit Printer Driver Configuration>, then File>Open and browse to the .plt file to be converted.
4) At this point, select File>Save As in the Edit Printer Driver Configuration menu, and save this new plot driver as a .pltcfg file.
