The iCS Validation process can start from either the desktop via i-model Validation Explorer or from an automated input from an application like ProjectWise Explorer. Any application can call the iCS Validation API to initiative the validation process. The input for the process must include:
- An i-model for validation
- The Name of a Standard (set of rules) to be applied to the i-model
- A connection definition for a Results Repository
i-model Validation Explorer is a desktop client that:
- Is used to define Validation configurations including rules and rule sets
- Provides ability to visually review and i-model along with its validation results (errors, warnings and information)
Rule Libraries
- Manage a set of rules encoded as either and ecRule or a Python script
- They contain collections called Standards
Standards
- can be created by an organization to reflects their own internal standards
- may include other standards in a hierarchy
- a set of System Level Rules standards will be delivered that define general purpose best practices for i-models
- other standards that define rules for specific workflows will be delivered including:
- Design Review
- Clash Detection
- ConstructSIM Data Loading
- eB Visual Navigation
- eB Federated Tag Services
- i-model Indexing
