Problem

Why the Point Cell's range block is larger than the elements in it?

Solution

Among other things, the range is used to determine if an element is a selection candidate based on cursor position. If the cursor position is inside the range of the element, then it may be selected. Since a point cell is view independent, its exact range can be different in depending on the view rotation. Therefore the range must encompass every possible location for every element.

Note:This is also true for other view-independent elements.
