Problem

When using Print Organizer, how do I make the default output namedefault to a specific name?

Solution

Define the variable MS_PLT_DEFAULT_OUTPUT_FILENAME_EXPRESSION in the user workspace. You can get the syntax of the desired output filename format from Print Organizer under File - Output Filenames. Select the desired output and cut the expression syntax. Set the above variable to the syntax.

You will need to create a new pset or open a new session of Print Organizer to see the results. The variable will not affect existing print sets.

Be sure to exit MicroStation after setting the variable.

Existing default output filenames defined in the printer driver files should continue to work for the Print dialog.
