Problem

Opening a DWG file & the Units of the design is not measuring correctly. How to setup the DWG Open Options for LineStyles?

Solution

It is highly recommended that a specific DGN Seed file is used when opening DWG files. If these steps are followed the DWG files opened will Measure as expected.

-Create a DGN Seed file with the proper Master / Sub Units & Set the Resolution settings to
the correct Master unit of the DWG file being opened.

Note: Different DGN seed files will need to be created depending on
the type of DWG files being opened.

Opening a DWG file:
In the MicroStation Manager Highlight the DWG file & select the
DWG Options button. In the DWG open options dialog the following will need to be set:
-If the DWG file was created using Architectural or Engineering Units: Set the Value to 'Seed File Master Units'
-If the DWG file was created using Decimal, Scientific
or Fraction Units: Set the Value to 'Seed File Master Units'

-Set the 'DGN Seed File' Value to the file that was created for this specific DWG.
-Select the OK button & the design should Measure using the correct units.
