Non-Associative Hatch patterns are using the default level

      Applies To

      Product(s): MicroStation
      Version(s): 08.05.00.64
      Environment:  N\A
      Area:  Patterning
      Subarea:  General
Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group

    Problem

After placing Non-Associative Hatch patterns, the default level (#0)
    shows to be used.

Trying to use "Match Pattern Attributes" tool on non-associative
patterns and getting an error in status bar:
    "Pattern Control Element Not Found"

    Product: MicroStation V8 2004 Edition
    Version: 08.05.00.64
    Area: Patterning

    Solution

    Reason:
This is working as designed. These elements are called "Pattern Control
Elements". They contain the pattern attribute data for non-associative
patterns. This allows the ability to use the "Match Pattern Attributes"
    tool on non-associative patterns.

    Solution:
It is possible to delete these elements by using the following key-in:
    LEVEL ELEMENT DELETE DEFAULT
This will delete all the elements on the "default" level.

    Notes:
-After the pattern control elements are deleted, it will not be possible
to use the "Match Pattern Attributes" tool on any existing
non-associative pattern. A error will report in status bar: "Pattern
    Control Element Not Found".
