Problem
How to align accurately a raster image to existing geometry in MicroStation v8.
Solution
There is no automated method for aligning raster images with existing vector geometry.
However, the following steps are relatively straightforward and typically work well:1) Place the image interactively in the vicinity of the existing geometry2) Choose Raster Manager > Edit > Modify and move the image so that one of the features in the image (e.g. one endpoint of a line) matches up with the corresponding vertex on the vector graphics.3) While still in the Raster Modify tool move the origin of the image (the concentric circle) to the location matched within Step 2.4) Rotate the image (rounded arrow handles) such that the raster feature aligns with the vector element.5) Scale the image (square handles) to match the OTHER endpoint of the feature with that of it's vector counterpart.
