Problem

Editing existing text causes new text to place with text setting from edited text.

When editing text with the Edit Text tool and then switching back to the place text tool the active setting used while editing the last piece of text become the active text settings

Solution

This is working as designed as the active setting and the Word Processor share the same resource. The edit text tool will always reflect the last known active settings that were used.

Workaround: In the Place Text tool setting dialog box select the Text Style with the desired text settings.

Note: In the XM Edition of MicroStation V8, the Place Text tool no longer uses the Edit Text settings.
