Problem

Attaching a reference with a UNC path?

Product: MicroStation
Version: V8 and newer
Area: Reference

Solution

This can be done by going to the attach reference dialog box and typing in \\ before the path to the reference file.

Using windows explorer you can browse to the file location copy/paste the full path into the attach reference file dialog box.
